Welcome to our new wellness area at The Smugglers Inn. A peaceful space created for slowing down, switching off and enjoying the natural beauty of Ballinskelligs Bay.
Set overlooking the Atlantic and Inny Beach, our outdoor sauna and hot tub offer the perfect place to unwind, with uninterrupted sea views across the bay. Take a refreshing dip in the ocean at nearby Inny Beach, cool off under our outdoor cold shower, then warm up in the sauna or settle into the hot tub and let the views do the rest.
Afterwards, take some time to relax in our relaxation room. With comfortable sun loungers, seating, changing facilities and WC, the space has been designed to make it easy to spend time simply relaxing by the sea. Glass windbreaks allow you to enjoy the views while offering shelter from the elements.
Our wellness area is open to both hotel guests and visitors, making it a wonderful addition to a day spent exploring the Ring of Kerry — or simply a reason to stay a little longer by the coast.

Inny Beach
Just beside the mouth of the River Inny, Inny Beach is a long, sweeping stretch of golden sand on the shores of Ballinskelligs Bay. Backed by dunes and opening out towards the Atlantic, the beach offers beautiful views across the bay towards the Kerry mountains and the Skellig coast.
The area has a fascinating history too. Ballinskelligs has strong links to the monks of Skellig Michael, who used the mainland here as their winter home before eventually settling in Ballinskelligs and establishing the 12th-century Augustinian Priory.
From the beach, you can also see the remains of McCarthy’s Castle, a 16th-century tower house standing on the shoreline of Ballinskelligs Bay, a reminder of the area's long connection with the sea and the McCarthy chieftains.
